About our borough, QUEENS, New York
We are proud to be located in Queens, New York. Our Learning Center is here to serve our beloved Queens community with a great sense of respect and pride. We aim to serve our community with the best tutoring services, helping parents and children, while also working to make our communities better and to improve our quality of life.
Queens is the largest in area and the second most populous of the five boroughs of New York City. If each NYC borough was an independent city, Queens would be the fifth largest city in the United States.
Located on the western portion of Long Island, Queens is home to two of the three major Tri-State Area airports, John F. Kennedy and LaGuardia. It boasts one Major League Baseball team, the New York Mets, and it is the host venue of the US Open tennis tournament in Flushing Meadows Park. It also houses the Silvercup Studios and the Kaufman Astoria Studios.
Immigrants comprise almost 50% of Queens' 2.2 million residents, making Queens, New York City's most diverse borough. Close to half of the foreign-born population is from Latin America, 33.5% from Asia, 14.8% from Europe, 1.8% from Africa.
The Hispanic or Latino population increased 61% between 1990-2006, now accounting for 26.5% of the total borough’s population, for a total of 597,773.

- The Mexican population in Queens has increased 457% to 71,283, the second highest in NYC.
About our neighborhood, WOODSIDE, Queens
Our neighborhood is a diverse and colorful community with terrific food establishments such as
Shripraphai Thai Restaurant (considered the best Thai restaurant in New York City),
Ihawan Filipino restaurant (and other great locales in the "Little Manila" section located from 63rd to 71st Streets at the strip of Roosevelt Avenue), and
La Flor Mexican Restaurant. Woodside also has a great elementary school in St. Sebastian Catholic school and a wide array of merchants offering high quality but affordable products and services.
Throughout its history, Woodside has been the largest Irish American community in Queens, and has a large number of Irish expatriates. However, since the early 1990s, many Latino and Asian American families moved into the area.
Woodside has the largest concentration of Ecuadorians and Filipinos in Queens. In addition, there is a large presence of Colombians, Mexicans, Dominicans, Koreans, Chinese, Indians, Bangladeshi, and Pakistanis.
